fishmarket for our fishermen

Can our leaders put there heads together and give justly the abandoned vacant building at the kristo rai fishing base? The fishermens can really use that building to sell there products. Fishing all day they come back and have to roam around village a b and c to sell their few fish. Gas is to expensive.

What happened to the coop? Expensive rent right. Pot fabot lets put our heads together forget about political this or that and open the local fishermen market. If we wait longer soon that building will be collapse.

we are speaking

Letter to the Editor: To the Senate president

WE find it amusing and rather embarrassing that an elected official would address an issue such as an impeachment request out of spite, frustration, immaturely and unprofessionally in front of other elected officials such as the Speaker of the House Arnold Palacios.
The one thing about the speaker is he never reacts negatively on the issues we address to him personally and a majority of the time he appreciates our views regardless of whether it is negative or positive, that itself earns and deserves respect
Mr. Reyes, your issues concerning your trip to Washington, D.C. to meet with Department of the Interior officials such as Mr. Nikolao Pula is nothing but a personal visit by you wasting taxpayers time and money. To falsely try to prove to Interior that the legislative and the executive branch are now UNITED is nothing but a mockery and an insult to the people of the commonwealth and the federal government.
Demanding that the current crisis with our power situation is a federal government responsibility and they should help us immediately is an embarrassment and insult to the U.S. government and to our people. These problematic issues with our Commonwealth Utilities Corp. were caused by years of politicking and self-interest greed. This crisis we now face with our public utilities is not the making of the federal government which has helped and supported the commonwealth tremendously by infusing millions of dollars each year to ensure the safety, health and welfare of the people of the commonwealth. It is leaders such as yourself that led us to the current predicament not the other way around.
Close to two decades in office and you just now woke up realizing that the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is in a crisis, a crisis affecting the entire community. This is nothing personal senator, but we want to send a clear message to you as president of our Senate that we the people of the commonwealth are no longer ignorant or can be mistreated and disrespected as if we have no say on these current matters.
Democracy demands that you listen and adhere to the will of the people, your constituents, senator.
No one in our homeland is above the law and our main mission is to instill stability, accountability and responsibility in our government which involves individuals at the helm of each division and agency in our government sector. Politics, ignorance and self-interest benefits need to end in our government, senator.
We hope that you take into consideration our IMPEACHMENT request to remove from office Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and Lt. Gov. Timothy P. Villagomez for they are not serving nor protecting the people of the commonwealth but instead they have endangered our community with their excessive use and abuse of executive authority in declaring a state of emergency declaration to sole-source contractors benefiting themselves and their constituents.
Remember that I personally hand delivered a copy of the DCM contract to you explaining the flaws and the frivolous nature it was executed but your response was, “What are we supposed to do Greg? We are in a crisis and we need power.” You completely ignored what caused the CRISIS.
DCM has to be held responsible and accountable for not delivering the 90 percent rehabilitation and repairs as stipulated in their signed contract agreements with our government and the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.
The governor and the lt. governor need to be held responsible for the CRISIS we now face caused by their backdoor SOLE-SOURCE contracts. millions of TAXPAYERS dollars have gone missing and No REHABILITATION AND REPAIR of our power plants have been delivered.
The current endangerment of our community and our homeland in terms of PUBLIC SAFETY, PUBLIC HEALTH, PUBLIC SERVICE AND WELFARE is PROOF enough for an IMPEACHMENT to take place senator.
My entire family and I once respected you senator, but your incompetence and ignorance in office has changed our views and prospective tremendously as our leader in our homeland.
Again, this is nothing personal senator; rather we are addressing an issue based on the TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH.GREGORIO CRUZ JR. Taotao Tano

words of wisdom

Indigenous land and sea
Our forefathers lived on these islands since time begun over four thousand years ago. Although conquerors came and ruled these isles without their consent, it's equally clear that foreigners were after their own interests, from exotic spice to the use of religion to conquer the Marianas Archipelago. The combined ugly arrogance and obvious lack of respect for the indigenous people still ring loud today.Never have I heard that they have given up the rights to ownership of these isles to any of the four conquerors. It is for this reason that Article XII exists under the Covenant Agreement and CNMI Constitution. Though our forefathers succumbed to submissive behavior, even with having to drown in the sea of humility, never once did they surrender ownership of our land and sea.History has established that Chamorros are a seafaring people who traversed the open waters over five hundred miles out to fish for bigger catch. Our ancestors did so in their simple canoe in order to provide for their community. They employed traditional navigation to get to and from fishing grounds. Otherwise, they fished in the lagoon during inclement weather. This historic fact, though riddled with arrogance and foreign domination, remains a traditional testament that hasn't changed through the years. The notion of the “we few” attempting to tell us what to do with our land and sea, peddling their much maligned plan to turn some part of the Northern Islands into a monument, must cease once and for all. It's not surprising if this insidious design is the key to the back door for proponents of the monument to someday silently claim all that is found on land and sea to their benefit. What about the rights of the indigenous people to any harvest of minerals subsequently found within the planned monument? Mind you, we know what we want with what's ours so for once in your lifetime let the indigenous people dispose of what's theirs. Eh, you guys think you smart, but we are no dummy, braddah!

Not bad ha??? Yapper and plato are soon to be informed about.

protecting the homeland

Am tired of this booshit talk about blaming this one or that one. The blame is put on you the people and not fighting hard enough each one of us to stop the federal government from destroying our homelands. Did you elect uncle Sam or Bush. I voted for my own representation for our homeland.

No more bad talks about the homeland will be challenged. That is what I'm about. So fi you have some things to add up here jus chime in as they say. No more booshit.
